When onboarding with Alto, ahead of going live, a number of tasks should be completed.

Complete your Team training

If you haven't already, we recommend you complete your Team training.

Alto Skills and the Alto Help Centre are available 24/7 for independent digital learning. Use these to recap on training and for useful tips when using Alto. Remember to book your Alto Review Sessions via the links sent by your Onboarding Coordinator.

For more information on Alto Skills, including FAQs, click here.

Email integration

Email integration within Alto, sometimes referred to as CAMS (CA Messaging Service), allows email replies to be seen and actioned directly within Alto, and it automatically records them on the corresponding Timeline.

Let your Onboarding Coordinator know if you would like this enabled.

Notify your marketing portals and update your website

Wherever your properties are advertised online, you'll need to redirect the feeds to Alto. This will help to ensure that the most up to date information on the properties in your portfolio continue to feed through to all web portals and to your website.

The process for updating these feeds is slightly different for web portals than for your website. Both are outlined below.

Marketing portals

 Note

For Zoopla, you can email your Onboarding Coordinator directly to request the feed set up

  1. You'll need to contact all of the marketing portals you work with to make them aware of your planned move to Alto
  2. Upon your request that the data feed be switched to feed from Alto, the marketing portals will provide our Support team with a feed activation code/branch ID. If you would also like online enquiries and web statistics to feed through to Alto, these should also be requested at this point
  3. Once our Support team have received the code/id, they'll contact you to confirm your authorisation for activating the portal feeds, and will help in enabling your Alto data feed

Please be aware that only properties with the following statuses in Alto will be displayed on the web portals:

  • Sales: Available, Under Offer (Available), Under Offer (Marketing), and Under Offer (SSTC)
  • Lettings: Available, Let Agreed, Let (Marketing)

 Note

Rightmove:

  • If you use the Premier Listings functionality, you’ll need to inform Rightmove that you would like this retained. Failure to do so before the Alto feed goes live may result in you losing these listings
  • If you have split Rightmove accounts at present (one for sales and one for lettings), please ask Rightmove to create you a dual account that accepts both sales and lettings

Website

If you currently upload properties to your own website, it’s likely that your website team will need to make some changes to accept the feed from Alto. Your website team can start this process now so that it will be ready when you start to use Alto.

Please provide them with the Client Feed API User Guide which will give them the information they need to ensure your properties can be uploaded from Alto.
