What are the benefits of using Analytics?

The benefits for using Analytics outweigh those of the Classic reports in Alto. Some of the (enhanced) features include:

  • The built in Presentation mode, which is fantastic for sharing in team briefings or board meetings. This enables you to cycle through the figures and present them in a clear and visual way without spending lots of time preparing charts and graphs
    1. Click Reports on the main navigation bar
    2. In the dropdown menu, click Analytics
    3. Open the dashboard you want to present
    4. Click the ellipsis (three dots) in the top right hand corner, then click Present

  • The Report scheduling feature, which enables you to set up a schedule to get reports emailed straight to your inbox based on the schedule you define. You can also set up schedules to send reports to your colleagues (within your Alto group). This means you'll never miss out on any important updates regarding your business performance.
    1. Click Reports on the main navigation bar
    2. In the dropdown menu, click Analytics
    3. Open the dashboard you want to schedule
    4. Click the ellipsis (three dots) in the top right hand corner, then click Create schedule

  • The Show underlying data feature, which enables you to dig into the reports at a more granular level.  The underlying data can also be exported as a .csv file enabling you to import it directly into Excel or Google Sheets for further analysis should you wish to

FAQs

  • How reliable is this data?

The data in your analytics refreshes overnight daily so what you see in Alto today will reflect the status at the end of the previous day.

  • The data I want isn't there - what do I do?

As this area is currently in beta, it's a work in progress and more will be added in the coming weeks. If there is something specific you want to see, please use the Leave feedback link at the top of the page in Alto to let us know. In the meantime, you can still access the Classic reports via Reports on the main navigation bar.

  • I've made changes I no longer want to see, how can I revert back to the default view?

Click the dropdown menu next to your filters and select Reset Dashboard to revert back to the default settings.

  • Some analytics are not showing what I expected - why?

First, check your filters are all correct for what you want to see.
If the data in your analytics still doesn't look right, click the ellipsis (three dots) in the top right of any tile and select Show underlying data to see what the data is based on. Remember, the data will update overnight daily so any changes you have made on the day of viewing will not be reflected in what you can see on screen.

  • The filter I want isn't there - why?

As this area is currently in beta, these new reports are a work in progress. If there is a filter you would particularly like to see, please use the Leave feedback link at the top of the page in Alto to let us know.

  • Can I create my own custom analytics?

At the moment it is not possible for you to create custom analytics. However, if there is something specific you think is missing, please use the Leave feedback link at the top of the page in Alto to let us know.
