Adding and removing sitting tenants in a property for sale

On a property that is marketed for sale, you can add and remove sitting tenants. However, this is only possible on sales properties and not lettings properties. 

An example of the functionality available for sitting tenants is:

  • When booking an appointment, (appraisal or viewing), the sitting tenants will appear on the confirmation screen. If they are included in the appraisal confirmation, they will be sent an appointment reminder

Before you follow the steps below, you must ensure that any sitting tenants that are to be added have already been created in Alto

  1. Click Property on the main toolbar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Click Property on the side menu
  4. In the Market & Ownership section, click the + symbol alongside the Sitting Tenant(s) field
  5. In the Search for Contact search bar, find and click the relevant tenant
    1. Repeat steps 4 and 5 if there are multiple tenants to be added
  6. Click the symbol alongside the Sitting Tenant(s) field, to remove the relevant tenant
  7. A Remove Tenant? message appears. Click Yes - Remove this Tenant
    1. Repeat steps 6 and 7 if there are multiple tenants to be removed
  8. Click Save
