Sticky notes on a property

Sticky notes in Alto are temporary notes, much like Post-it notes and you can add, amend, hide and remove them on a property record. Unlike file notes in the Timeline, sticky notes are more prominent onscreen and thus not as easily overlooked.

This article includes:

Add a sticky note to a property

  1. Click Property on the main toolbar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Click the + symbol
  4. A sticky note appears. Drag the sticky note to the location on the property record where you want it to be visible
  5. Click the sticky note and type in your required message. The sticky note turns pink to indicate that you are in edit mode
  6. Click Save

Your sticky note is recorded in the property's Timeline and appears whenever anyone views the property record.

 Warning

Your sticky note won't appear if you're referencing the property from outside the property record. For example, if you are booking a viewing appointment from the Diary and your note contains important information that colleagues need to be aware of when booking a viewing appointment, this information would be better entered into the property's Viewing Notes

Amend a sticky note on a property

  1. Click Property on the main toolbar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Click the sticky note and enter your required changes to the message. The sticky note turns pink to indicate that you are in edit mode
  4. Click Save

The record of the sticky note in the property's Timeline will update to reflect your changes and the amended sticky note will continue to appear whenever anyone views the property record.

Hide sticky notes on a property

Occasionally, sticky notes might obscure information that you are trying to read which appears behind them. In these instances, you'll want to hide them but not delete them.

  1. Click Property on the main toolbar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Click the pin symbol to hide the sticky note

All sticky notes attached to the property are temporarily hidden but will reappear if you click the pin again, or, when the property is next viewed.

Remove a sticky note from a property

When the message in the sticky note is no longer relevant, the sticky note can be deleted.

  1. Click Property on the main toolbar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Click Delete in the bottom right corner of the sticky note
  4. A Delete Sticky Note? message appears. Click Yes to confirm you want to delete the sticky note

The record of the sticky note in the property's Timeline will update to show who deleted it and when it was deleted. The sticky note also no longer appears whenever anyone views the property record.

 Note

Be aware that whilst sticky notes can be deleted when they are no longer relevant, a record of them will remain in the property's Timeline
