Setting a property's mapping location

Once you've instructed a property (and configured whether to automatically send quotes from our vetted approved panel of conveyancers), you'll need to add further details to the property record in preparation for it going on the market.

The simplest way of doing so initially is by using our new property workflow, which helps you manage properties through the lifecycle of a transaction.

After Lead in/out, rooms and paragraphs, the seventh step involved in Pre-marketing of the property is to set the property's mapping location, as it's important you ensure that the location is indicated correctly, both in Alto and on portals.

The location can be changed using map or street view in Alto, to enable you to pinpoint the exact property.

Changing the location using Map View

  1. Click Properties on the main navigation bar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Click Mapping on the side menu
  4. On Map View in the left half of the screen, click and drag the red pin to the precise location of the property. Click the + and - symbols to zoom in and out, if required
  5. On Street View in the right half of the screen, click Synchronise with Map View to align the view with the location of the red pin
  6. Click and drag Street View as required, to reorient the view so that you are looking straight at the property
  7. Click Save

  4. On Street View in the right half of the screen, click and drag the Street View to reorient the view. You can manipulate the view using the controls until you are looking straight at the property
(Click the + and - symbols to zoom in and out, or, use the compass to rotate the view, if required)
  5. On Map View in the left half of the screen, click Synchronise with Street View to align the red pin with the newly selected location
  6. Click Save

With the Mapping set, you'll now want to move on to getting listing approval from the owner.
