PropertyFile offers two different widgets that can be added to your website; the Viewings widget and the Appraisals widget. These widgets allow clients visiting your website to book an appointment to view a property or to have their property valued.

Both widgets require a small amount of additional code to be added to your website in order to allow them to work. Whether you manage your own website or your site is managed by a developer, the instructions are easy to follow.

Setting up your website widgets

Once you've enabled your widgets, you'll need to generate an API key and pass this over to the person responsible for managing your website along with the set up instructions. To do this:

  1. Click either Request an Appraisal or Request a Viewing on the side menu
  2. Click Generate a new key
  3. Under Authorised websites, add in the website address the widget will be installed on, including https://. Alternatively, if you wish to use the widget on multiple websites, leave this blank
  4. Share the API key and installation guide with your web developer
    1. Download PDF will download a .pdf of the API which you can attach to an email and send to your web developer
    2. Share via email is the recommended option. This will launch your email client and allow you to send the instructions to your web developer

 Note

  • If you wish to set up both widgets on your website, you'll need to repeat these steps for each widget separately
  • We recommend you copy the API key, click Share via email, paste the API key into the body of the new email and send
