We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions relating to live marketing templates, such as brochures, window cards, browse sheets and letterheads.

What are 'pre-designed' templates?

During your initial onboarding to Alto, you would have been asked to confirm the template designs or marketing pack that you would like set up, i.e. brochures, window cards, browse sheets and letterheads.

A 'pre-designed' template is one which is based on an existing pre-designed layout and design, as opposed to something fully bespoke.

Your logo and colours are applied to the template, but overall design remains the same.

What are 'custom' templates?

A 'custom' template is one which is based on a bespoke mock-up or design that you supplied, which doesn't match the pre-designed collection that was available to you.

A custom template package is an additional chargeable service.

Ad hoc changes

Changes to existing brochures/window cards/browse sheets

If you require changes to an existing template and you would prefer to not make the changes yourself, the Design team can assist.

The required changes should be supplied to the Design team for review which will allow us to provide a quotation for the work and an approx. timescale for completion.

Provide as much initial information as you can to allow us to fully understand the changes you wish to make.

The hourly design rate for ad hoc changes is £90+vat per hour, minimum of an hours charge.

Rebrand

Logo change or rebrand of company artwork

If you have updated your company logo as part of a rebrand, you may require changes to your existing brochures/window cards/browse sheets/letterhead templates to reflect the new design.

If you have our pre-designed selection of Alto templates, we will update the logo and colour scheme to reflect the new brand by simply swapping out old for new. The overall template layout and design will remain the same as before. A standard rebrand is typically £90+vat.

If you have custom templates or require a more in-depth rebrand, you will need to supply us with a .pdf mock-up of the new design in full, along with any supporting artwork files. A custom rebrand is £90+vat per hour, minimum of an hours charge (accurate quotation provided following review).

Artwork files should be supplied as so;

  • Logo: 300dpi .eps or transparent .png file
  • Full mock-up: 300dpi .eps or .png file
  • Font: If you require a font change, please confirm or supply the font file in a 'True Type' format
  • Brand guidelines inc. colour values (if this isn't available we will simply pick the colour from the logo)

If you require other changes to be factored in alongside the rebrand, please provide clear details allowing us to include within the final quotation.

Letterhead changes

Changes to an existing letterhead

If you need to make changes to an existing letterhead template i.e. to update an affiliate logo or change a contact detail, Design can update this for you.

You will need to supply a new A4 letterhead for upload to the system. The file should contain the logo, header and footer content, and any other watermark imagery or design elements.

Artwork files should be supplied as so;

  • Letterhead: 300dpi .eps or transparent .png file, no less than 21cm wide, for an A4 document

 Note

Changes to the content of the letters is something you must maintain via your software login. Design can only assist with cosmetic changes to header and footers

New brochure template

Design can setup new brochure templates upon request;

  • Marketing pack: Choose from a selection of designs, each containing 11 templates covering brochures, window cards and a browse sheet, £450+vat per pack
  • Pre-designed template: Choose from a selection of designs, £90+vat per template
  • Custom template: Supply us with your own mock-up, £90+vat per hour (accurate quotation provided following review)

New window card template

Design can setup new window card templates upon request;

  • Marketing pack: Choose from a selection of designs, each containing 11 templates covering brochures, window cards and a browse sheet, £450+vat per pack
  • Pre-designed template: Choose from a selection of designs, £90+vat per template
  • Custom template: Supply us with your own mock-up, £90+vat per hour (accurate quotation provided following review)

New browse sheet

Design can setup new browse sheet templates upon request;

  • Pre-designed template: Choose from a selection of designs, £90+vat per template
  • Custom template: Supply us with your own mock-up, £90+vat per hour (accurate quotation provided following review)

New letterhead

Design can setup new letterhead templates upon request;

Artwork files should be supplied as so;

  • Logo: 300dpi .eps or transparent .png file
  • Full mock-up: 300dpi .eps or .png file

Changes to the content of the letters is something you must maintain via your software login. Design can only assist with cosmetic changes to header and footers.

 Note

  • All inbound requests of adjustment or additional design requirements are reviewed and actioned in the order received
  • Where any work is subject to a charge, we will provide a quotation in advance pending your approval to proceed
  • Following approval to proceed, you will be emailed an order confirmation to sign and on return work will be escalated back to the Design team for scheduling
  • The agreed design work will completed as per the final brief and will be scheduled into the Design pipeline. At this point we will be able to provide an estimate for when work will be completed
  • The work will be scheduled into the Design pipeline at the earliest availability, once signed paperwork has been received. We always aim to complete any agreed design work within a maximum of 15 working days after signed paperwork is returned
  • Where you require design work to be completed by a given deadline, please provide a design brief to the team at least 3 weeks prior so that we can schedule around other queued projects. Last minute requests without sufficient advance warning cannot always be factored in at short notice

When will the work be completed?

This very much depends on the size of the project.

All inbound requests are queued and actioned in the order received. Any chargeable work will be quoted for and you will be provided with an order confirmation to sign. On return, the work will be scheduled into the Design pipeline at the earliest availability.

We always aim to complete any agreed design work within a maximum of 15 working days after signed paperwork is returned.

Where you require design work to be completed by a given deadline, please provide a design brief to the team at least 3 weeks prior so that we can schedule around other queued projects. Last minute requests without sufficient advance warning cannot always be factored in at short notice.

Other

Editing templates yourself

It is possible to edit and create your own brochure templates in Alto and we offer training sessions to support the use of its tooling.

We recommend caution before applying any changes to your existing templates, as a charge may be incurred to rectify any problems to templates Design initially created for you, that were otherwise signed-off/live.

The hourly rate for work to existing templates is £90+vat, minimum of an hours charge.

Sold/Let/Under Offer ribbons on brochures or window cards

Ribbons for Sold/Let/Under Offer will not automatically display on brochures or window cards. You will need a separate set of templates to be created to display this graphic, if it is required.

To do this, you can simply duplicate your completed templates in Alto, then overlay a suitable graphic or text in your preferred location.

Alternatively, the Design team can assist and can add up to 5x additional duplicated templates displaying our default ribbon graphic.

Templates must be complete and signed-off before duplications can be made for this purpose.

Additional templates over this quantity will be subject to a charge to add.

Printing brochures or window cards with Ravensworth

If your brochures or window cards have not previously been set up to print to Ravensworth, some adjustments may be required before your templates will be compatible with this method of printing.

Please supply us with your Ravensworth branch ID along with a .pdf copy of the design you wish to print. Or confirmation of the template name, if it already exists in Alto.

Design can then review this for you and provide a quotation to build, if it is a new template. Or, review alongside your existing templates on your account to see if they are compatible.
