If a high resolution copy of your logo was not available when your (brochure/window card/browse sheet) publisher templates were first created during your onboarding to Alto, you may wish to upload a better quality version.
You'll need to use a program like Microsoft Paint or similar to prepare the new logo file prior to upload. Or, if you have a designer that assists with your firm's artwork, you may have them create this for you.
This article includes:
Extracting your existing logo from Alto
- Click Tools on the main toolbar
- In the dropdown menu, click Templates and admin
- Click System Administration on the side menu
- Click Group Settings
- In Group Settings, scroll down to your Media Items. Locate your existing logo file and copy its file Name, i.e. Logo.xxx (including the file extension)
- Then, right click the Image and select Save image as
- Keep the exact same file Name as it exists in Alto, i.e. Logo.xxx. Choose where you want to save the artwork on your device (Typically it will be the Downloads folder)
- Locate the newly saved file on your device and right click on it, click Properties, then the Details tab. Make a note of its Dimensions (width and height)
Preparing your new artwork
- Open the new logo file in an artwork application (Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop or similar)
- Ensure the artwork is prepared to a 300dpi resolution (for print output)
- Align and position the new logo, so it appears similar to the old logo
- Adjust the artwork dimensions to match those of the old logo file
- Save the file to your device, ensuring it has the exact same file name as the old file, i.e. Logo.xxx and (if prompted) that it's set to a 300dpi resolution
(The file name is case sensitive so it must be identical)
Note
To avoid unexpected results across your publisher templates in Alto, it's extremely important that the file name and dimensions are retained, and that they match that of the old file before it's uploaded back into Alto
