Once you've set the property to have the Available status, the second step involved in Marketing of the property is to upload the property to the internet.

The simplest way of doing so initially is by using our new property workflow, which helps you manage properties through the lifecycle of a transaction.

Uploading a property to the internet via property workflow
  1. Click Properties on the main navigation bar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. Properties at any of the following status (Instructed, Available, Let (Marketing), Withdrawn, Suspended) will have a Prepare Property banner at the top of the page.
Click Review and publish below Portal publishing to open up the property workflow
  4. Here you'll be prompted to choose which portals you want to publish to - Tick Include all portals to publish the property to all portals, or, tick Include against the relevant individual portals
  5. Add in any publishing delays (in hours) using the + or - buttons, if necessary
  6. Click Update portals
  7. A label against each portal will state Sent To Portals to say if it's been successful, the status on the Overview will change, and an entry also appears in the property Timeline

Uploading a property to the internet via the property record

On a property record, you can use the Portal Publishing option to upload the property to the internet portals.

You should ensure that certain sections/fields have been completed as the information contained in them will upload to the portals and your website.

  1. Click Properties on the main navigation bar
  2. Select the relevant property from Recent & Favourite Properties
    1. Alternatively, find the property using the Search Properties bar in the top right
  3. The property Overview displays. Take note of the status - properties will not upload to the portals unless they are set as Available. As such, the Portal Publishing button is only visible on statuses that can be published, i.e. Available, Let Marketing, and Instructed, where it'll automatically update the status of a property to become Available
  4. Below Portal publishing, click Review and publish

    1. The Listing Review page may open - this page identifies any errors preventing the property from being uploaded and published, and links out to our property workflow for you to make the amendments (i.e. if a mandatory section/field on the property record hasn't been completed).
It also acts as a preview of what the property listing will look like on the portals should you want to verify the information beforehand. You can also check the Gallery to review that the main photo and image order has been set correctly

    2. If there are no errors to fix and you're able to proceed, click Publication settings
  5. Tick Include all portals to publish the property to all portals, or, tick Include against the relevant individual portals
  6. Add in any publishing delays (in hours) using the + or - buttons, if necessary
  7. Click Update portals
  8. A label against each portal will state Sent To Portals to say if it's been successful, the status on the Overview will change, and an entry also appears in the property Timeline

Common reasons a property may fail to upload to portals

Regardless of the method you use to upload a property, it may still fail if required information is missing. Ensure that the:

  • Property address contains a Name/No, and a Town

The Name/No, and Town on the full property record
  • Property includes a Summary Description (if uploading to Zoopla)
