Alto has integrated with Goodlord’s award-winning platform, enabling you to complete the full tenancy progression quickly and effectively within Alto.

Goodlord offers the only fully-integrated lettings platform on the market, bringing all of the core elements of tenancy progression together under one roof – from offer letter to rent collection, and beyond.

What are the benefits of using Goodlord?

There are several benefits of having access to the only fully-integrated lettings platform in the property market. These include:

  • Reduce data entry between two systems - All data is passed directly between Alto and Goodlord - this reduces the chance of costly admin errors whilst saving you time
  • Reduce admin time per let by 70% - Make light work of contract generation, signing and rent payments, and automate up to 37 compliance steps
  • One single platform - Get everything from pre-qualification to referencing and rent collection all under one roof
  • Improve compliance - Have peace of mind knowing you can't miss a compliance step, due to handy reminders and warnings when essential documents aren’t attached
  • Earn commission - Generate extra revenue and earn commission on market-leading insurance, broadband and media packages for your landlords and tenants

Setting up the integration

If you would like to request access, whether you're an existing Goodlord customer or if you want to get set up as a new customer:

  1. Click Integrations on the main navigation bar
  2. Click the Tenant Onboarding category
  3. Below Goodlord, click Tell me more
    1. If you're an existing Goodlord customer and want to integrate your account with Alto, click Integrate Goodlord. Slide the toggle indicating you have an account and click Integrate, at which point your request will be sent
    2. If you're a new customer wanting to get set up with Goodlord, click Register interest. Complete the short form and click Submit. Goodlord will then contact you to set up a no-obligation chat so you can find out more about them and how they integrate with Alto

To check on the status of your integration request and whether it's activated within Alto, you can view the Tell me more > Integrate page.

Here, within the Branch integration section, you can view a Sent date alongside the available branches you have access to - this is the date upon which an activation email was sent to the partner.

How does the integration work?

The Goodlord integration is a server-to-server connection. Once it's active, data is passed automatically between Alto and Goodlord based on tenancy status and event changes in Alto - there's no button in Alto to start the process manually.

Progressing the tenancy

In Alto, once an offer has been accepted by all parties on an Available or Let (Marketing) property, a Proposed tenancy is created within the Tenancies side menu tab of that property.

As you progress the tenancy in Alto, the relevant tenancy and tenant information is exported to Goodlord automatically. You don't need to click a button in Alto to send details to Goodlord - the integration passes the data across in the background as the tenancy status changes.

What this means day-to-day: You work the tenancy in Alto as you normally would, and Goodlord receives the proposed tenancy information without any manual export step. If you don't see a button to start reference checks on the progression screen, this is expected - the Goodlord integration doesn't use one.

Referencing

If you use Goodlord for tenant referencing, reference checks are started within your Goodlord system, not in Alto. Log in to Goodlord to begin new reference checks. Goodlord will use the tenancy data it has received from Alto.

Viewing the results of the checks

The results of the reference checks can be viewed from the relevant tenancy record in Alto.

  1. Click Tenancies on the main navigation bar
  2. Select the relevant tenancy from Recent & Favourite Tenancies
    1.  Alternatively, find the tenancy using the Search Tenancies bar in the top right
  3. Click Tenancy on the side menu
  4. Click the Referencing top tab
  5. Previous Checks will be listed, stating the time and date of when the referencing check was Requested, when it was Updated, the name of the Tenant, the Status of the referencing request, and who it was Requested By.
A snapshot of this information is also visible within the Recent Activity section on the tenancy Overview, and within the tenancy Timeline
