List of merge codes for email templates

This is a complete list of the merge codes you can use in your Alto email templates to personalise them - so details like a contact's name, a property address, or your branch phone number fill in automatically when the email is sent.

Merge codes are placeholders enclosed in hash symbols, for example #contact_salutation# or #branch_name#. When the email is sent, Alto replaces each merge code with the matching information from the record, such as the recipient contact or a linked property.

 Note

Merge codes stay visible as text (for example #contact_name#) while you build or view the template - this is expected. They only populate with real details when the email is sent.

When creating the email, you can use the Merge codes option on the editor toolbar, or type, copy and paste any of the codes below. They will merge on sending the email.

Merge codes for batch emails

The merge codes below are unique to sending bulk emails in relation to Event Dates on the Property Management Dashboard. Using them adds a personalised touch to each email and saves time by pulling in useful fields such as tenant name and rent agreed.

Tenancy

Name Description
#event_date_tenancy_agreement_name# The agreement name for a tenancy
#event_date_tenancy_end_date# The end date for a tenancy
#event_date_tenancy_management_type# The term management type for a tenancy
#event_date_tenancy_rent_agreed# The amount of rent agreed for a tenancy
#event_date_tenancy_rent_frequency# The frequency of rental due dates for a tenancy
#event_date_tenancy_start_date# The start date for a tenancy
#event_date_tenancy_term_length# The term of the latest term including years or months qualifier
#event_date_tenancy_vacate_date# The tenancy vacate date

In the codes below, replace <number> with the tenant's number (for example the first tenant is 1).
