Alto has integrated with Vouch’s award-winning, intelligent tenant referencing system, enabling you to complete reference checks quickly and effectively within Alto.

As well as quickly collecting all the information needed to verify the identity and income of a tenant, you can also earn commission in the process without needing to switch between platforms.

What are the benefits of using Vouch?

In addition to streamlining the tenant referencing user experience in Alto, saving you time, it also offers an improved experience for landlords and tenants.

Further benefits of using Vouch include:

  • Quick identity verification - Quickly collect all the information to verify a tenant’s identity and income using the latest identity verification, facial recognition and open banking software
  • Automated tenant chasing - Landlords can get tenants into their properties as quickly as possible, as well as saving time in the process
  • Rent protection insurance - The insurance policy covers against non-payment of rent as well as supplying legal advice and covering eviction costs
  • Reduced manual data entry - Vouch remembers duplicate data, so there’s no need to re-key information that you’ve already added once, saving you time
  • Earn commission - Get paid in the process and earn commission on packages for your landlords and tenants, of up to £300 per property (Sky and Virgin tv/broadband packages)

Setting up the integration

If you would like to request access, whether you're an existing Vouch customer or if you want to get set up as a new customer:

  1. Click Integrations on the main navigation bar
  2. Click the Referencing category
  3. Below Vouch, click Tell me more
    1. If you're an existing Vouch customer and want to integrate your account with Alto, click Integrate Vouch. Enter your Vouch Customer ID and select the branches you'd like to activate. Then, click Submit. A Connected message appears if successful
    2. If you're a new customer wanting to get set up with Vouch, click Register interest. Complete the short form and click Submit. Vouch will then contact you to set up a no-obligation chat so you can find out more about them and how they integrate with Alto.
Once you're set up with Vouch, contact Alto support and request the integration is switched on. You'll be asked to provide your Customer ID, Company name, Email address and the branches you'd like to activate

To check on the status of your integration request and whether it's activated within Alto, you can view the Tell me more > Integrate page.

Here, within the Branch integration section, you can view a Sent date alongside the available branches you have access to - this is the date upon which you correctly entered the credentials needed to activate the integration.

How does the integration work?

Conducting the checks

In Alto, once an offer has been accepted by all parties on an Available or Let (Marketing) property, a Proposed tenancy will be created within the Tenancies side menu tab of that property.

To access the tenancy progression screen from this point:

  1. Click the Proposed tenancy

  4. Within the tenancy progression, ensure that all of the information within the Tenancy Details section is correct - If you need to update missing data or make amendments, you can do so by selecting Edit Tenancy.
When you're ready, click Start referencing checks. This will begin the reference check process using the information in the Tenancy Details section

  5. Ahead of sending the information to Vouch to begin their tenant referencing checks, you can review the tenancy and the tenants.

  6. If you're happy with the information, click Send reference details

  7. The details of the tenancy are sent to Vouch who will conduct the reference checks. Click Finished

At this point, Vouch immediately contacts the tenant(s) via text and email with a virtual application form to get them referenced. Results are typically returned within 2 days at which point they'll be available in Alto.

Watch the below video to learn more about the process that occurs in Vouch once the referencing checks have been requested.
