Did you know...
Alto's New Lettings Progression feature is currently under development and will be rolled out to all Alto customers in phases over the coming months.
If you are keen to be one of the first to access the new lettings progressions, you can click here to register your interest in early access, and a member of the development team will be in touch soon
Once the referencing stage is complete and the applicant has verified their identity, it’s time to send the tenancy agreement out for signing. This is the contract stage of the progression.
Click play on the video below for a walkthrough of the contract stage.
Note
Alto's new lettings progression journey is under development. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the above video, there may be small differences between what is shown and the current process. Be assured we will be regularly reviewing our content around the new lettings progression while development continues to ensure it remains as up to date as possible at all times. The step-by-step written instructions below do reflect the most recent updates in the process.
Navigate back to your progression by selecting the progressions tab in the main navigation bar, then clicking on ‘lettings progressions beta’, or simply select the progressions tab on the property side menu, then, find the relevant progression in the list
Send contracts for signing
Warning
The new lettings progression journey only supports one person per contact record. If you have more than one landlord for the property or tenant on the application, they will each need to be set up with a separate contact record.
- Within the progression, click Generate documents
- A warning will appear to remind you that once the documents have been generated, no further changes can be made to the application terms. Click Generate documents to confirm acceptance of this
- The contracts have now been generated. Click on Edit the tenancy agreement to finalise it
- The document editor will open in a new tab. Check the tenancy agreement carefully and make any changes that are needed. When you are happy the agreement is ready, click Finalise to confirm it.
- Return to the progression screen.
- You now have two options.
- If you would like the tenant to sign the tenancy agreement electronically, you can choose Send documents via Keyflo
- Alternatively, if your tenant will be signing a printed agreement with pen and ink, click Wet sign tenancy documents
Sign the contract via Keyflo
If you've chosen to send the tenancy agreement via Keyflo, your tenant will receive an email with a magic link to log into Keyflo and sign the agreement. They will be able to follow the prompts they see on screen in order to sign. Once the tenant has signed, you will then be able to sign on the landlords behalf.
- Return to the progression
- Click Sign
- Scroll through the document to the signable fields. These will be labelled Click here to sign. You can opt to type, draw, or upload a signature.
- Once all signable fields have been signed, you will be asked to confirm you want to sign the agreement. Click Yes to confirm
- A message will appear telling you you have completed your envelope. Click Proceed to continue.
Wet sign the contract
If you've chosen to wet sign the contract, you'll need to do so and then upload a signed copy back to the progression. This will then be stored as a document on the tenancy record.
- Click Download to download the finalised document to your computer
- Print the document and have all relevant parties sign it.
- Scan the signed document and save it on your computer. All pages will need to be in a single pdf document in order to upload back to the progression.
- Return to the progression in Alto
- Either drag and drop the signed document into the upload section or click on the upload option and select the file from your computer
- Tick to confirm that the tenancy agreement has been signed and Click Upload
Completing either the E-Sign or the wet sign process completes the contract stage of the progression. A copy of the signed contract will be available in the documents section of the tenancy record. You can now proceed to the Payments stage.
