Alto's Advanced Analytics gives you greater flexibility and control over your reporting, allowing you to customise dashboards, tailor data visualisations, and uncover deeper insights from your data.

Building on our standard Analytics, Advanced Analytics enables you to go beyond pre-built dashboards and create reporting that fits your business needs - while also using AI to explore and explain your data.

 Note

We’re gradually replacing Alto’s Classic reports with the more insightful and flexible Analytics

Key concepts

Understanding these terms will help you get the most from Advanced Analytics:

Answers

An answer is an individual KPI, Chart or Table.

Answers are interactive - you can drill down into data points and view the underlying data.

Dashboards

A dashboard is a collection of answers displayed together, sometimes across multiple tabs.

Dashboards can be presented, shared, scheduled, and exported.

Custom reports

Custom dashboards act as custom reports, giving you a personalised view of your data and insights.

Creating custom dashboards

Custom dashboards allow you to create personalised views of your data by selecting and arranging the metrics that matter most to you. All custom dashboards are stored in your Analytics library.

Watch our short video to see how to create a custom dashboard by pinning answers or cloning existing dashboards.

To create a dashboard, there are two ways to get started:

Pin an answer

  1. Click Reports on the main navigation bar
  2. In the dropdown menu, click Analytics
  3. Scroll down your Analytics library and open an existing dashboard
  4. Choose a KPI, chart, or table from the dashboard and click the ellipsis (three dots)
  5. Click Pin
  6. Select + Create Dashboard. Then, enter a name for your board and select Pin again

Your board is now listed in the Analytics library. You can use the search to help find it, and then edit it to suit your needs.

Clone an existing dashboard

  1. Click Reports on the main navigation bar
  2. In the dropdown menu, click Analytics
  3. Scroll down your Analytics library and open an existing dashboard
  4. Click the ellipsis (three dots), then click Make a copy
  5. Enter a name for your board and select Save

Your board is now listed in the Analytics library. You can use the search to help find it, and then edit it to suit your needs.

Editing and customising answers

Once an answer has been added to your custom dashboard, you can customise how it displays your data. You can:

  • Modify the data (measures and attributes)
  • Switch between charts and tables
  • Select different chart types
  • Add, remove, or reorder columns
  • Apply filters to refine results

Watch our short video to learn how to edit answers and customise how your data is displayed.

Organising your custom dashboard

You can tailor your custom dashboard to suit your workflow and reporting needs.

Tabs

Group related data (e.g. Sales, Lettings, Property Management) to keep dashboards organised.

Watch our short video to see how to add and manage tabs on your custom dashboard.

Filters

Filter your data by:

  • Date
  • Branch
  • Negotiator
  • Category

This ensures you’re always viewing relevant and accurate data.

Watch our short video to learn how to apply filters to your custom dashboard.

Notes

Add notes to:

  • Provide context or explanations
  • Share guidance with colleagues
  • Include links, images, or supporting information

Layout

You can:

  • Drag and drop tiles to reposition them
  • Resize tiles to improve visibility

Watch our short video to see how to move, resize, and personalise your custom dashboard layout.

Sharing custom dashboards

By default, your custom dashboards are private unless you choose to share them.

You can share dashboards with other users in your organisation.

  • Choose whether users can view or edit
  • Optionally send a notification
  • Shared dashboards appear in their Analytics library

Watch our short video to learn how to share custom dashboards with your team.
